Anyone experiencing poor cold start idle/kangarooing etc?

Proper, genuine MAP sensor installed and all is now well. Don't buy a cheap MAP sensor!

    Steering noise

Hey Kenny, get a can of spray grease on the joints in the column, especially in the drivers footwell. It's sorted mine buddy and we all share the same steering column.

    Gearbox problems?

Thanks bud, couldn't agree more that changing all fluids periodically is important. I've ordered the Miller gear oil (same spec) and will do it next weekend. Car due a service in 2500 miles and I'll ask the garage to do coolant, diff and brake fluids then.

    Boot will not open

Id check the switch and fuse first buddy.

    Best 195/40/17 tyres?

Me too! I'm also looking at 205 40 r17 as there's a better choice for less money...

What preparation for my first trackday?

Thanks for the tip! I've been changing oil every 4k miles since I've had the car and it'll have a service (and all new fluids Inc diff, gearbox, coolant, etc...) at RenTec prior. Since it's my daily driver I'll not be going crazy but i am excited at the prospect!

    Front mud flaps - recommendations?

Sparco generic flaps are great. Use the existing two trim bolts at the lower end and drill a hole to stop them rattling up top. I'll post a pic when i can find one of mine, but looks great and very effective. £13 for a pair too!

    Power steering stiffness

I have this occasionally, and sometimes a grinding noise from behind the steering wheel. Not bothered to check but going to grease the column and linkages over the weekend. Mines a 13 plate 133 with 26k on the clock too No steering fluid on 133, it's an electric motor providing assistance.

    New Owner!

Nice work Ben! I'm an Englishman in Glasgow and got my 133 from Evesham. Not sure about specialists up in Aberdeen but RenTec Edinburgh are incredible with all RS models. Enjoy!

    Hesitation when accelerating

I'd certainly whip off the air feed and use some carb cleaner on the throttle body, nice easy job. Would also consider fuel pressure, MAP sensor and air leaks. How do the plugs look, and how does the car idle?

    KTEC REMAP

I'd pull the trigger on the BMC CDA induction kit; that or the K&N Apollo but just for brand loyalty I prefer BMC. Don't worry about warm air soak or more/less horsepower - you're really making fractional differences. Maybe you'll notice a slightly better throttle response. You will get a...

    KTEC REMAP

Hey Bradley. Word from my local independent RS specialist is that you'll not really release any significant improvements in BHP with any "cheap" mods. You can make it sound a bit throatier with an induction kit and a bit raspier with a new exhaust, but simply keeping the engine well maintained...

    Sound Deadening

Good thread! I was tempted but I don't want any more weight, even 15kg. Bear in mind also that different tyres have differing acoustic output - I just put some premium Dunlops on my wife's new Ford C-Max (already well insulated) and it made things noticeably quieter in the cabin...

    Hello from Highworth

Nice work Mr Miller! Sounds lovely, I nearly got a red one but ended up with white. And nice mods too, post pics when you can and do say hello if you're ever passing Glasgow :)

6 Year Service & Cambelt Change

Yep, c£650 for mine by an independent Renault specialist (Rentec, Edinburgh). More importantly I actually trust these guys to do a good job whereas the local "Renault" dealerships in Scotland are all Arnold Clark franchises and notoriously rubbish,

Twingo Number Plate T31NGO for sale

Good luck - nice plate! I'm holding out for L3 TGV but all I can get is L4 TGV. Damn those Frenchies and their grammar! :)

    Airbox bung/flap already deleted?

That's the exact same setup as mine. Nice :) Though I will be sticking in a BMC CDA induction kit at some point between now and next summer....
