Gold !!!

After burning myself on the Air pipe that leads from the turbo straight over the top of the engine into the intercooler. and thinking to myself that this can't be good for the intake temps ... i decided to wrap the pipe in gold heat Wrap ...

So far, Ive noticed that the engine seams to pull stronger throughout the rev range .... and my fuel economy has slightly increased ! i think that when i next have the front bumper off i will be wrapping more pipes in the same stuff :)

The exhaust manifold with also be wrapped when the exhaust system is changed.

Really lovely looking motor that and some top modifications.

Love all the audio gear as well. I've got a 12" Vibe active sub in my Megane and that's a fantastic bit of kit. Can only imagine how good that sounds with all the gear set up in there. :)

Looks like a good list of future modifications as well.

Update ...

I am currently designing a new BANDPASS subwoofer enclosure, incorporating 2x15inch vibe space subwoofers ...

I have also added these .... :p

And a sneaky shot of "The beast" and "Chloe the Clio" ...

All looks good mate. Defo go for the Calibre's and then get it slammed on some coils. Don't think the roof box would look good though.
Where did you get the badge covers from?

The roof box is only really going to be put on when its need for holidays ext, but once i get the bars for it ill use see what it looks like and go from there.

The calibre's are a sure thing. How ever coil overs are a no go, The road bumps around my area/Street already hit the underneath and front bumper lip, so i can't go any lower than stock hight, so i have to go down the airbag route instead, all be it expensive! :(This will be the last thing that i do on the car!)

the "badge covers" are actually just vinyl stickers ... I've tick them on the face of the badge, and then trimmed around the outside to still give the sides the chrome look of the original badge, Ive only had them on a few days and they have already become a bit of a head turner ! :) (You heard it hear first :p)

Ah shame about the coils. Not sure how well it'll handle with bags on unless you go for a mega expensive setup.
I've put vinyl wrap over my badges and trimmed it just no where near as well as you have. Thought it was some sort of plastic cover!

Im a bit more of a comfort freak now than a speed/handling guy now :). so a slight loss of handling isn't going to be to much of a worry for my style of driving :).

They where a pig to do tbf, took me a good few hours to do them! just got to wait and see how long then last in the current weather lol

Update ...

Keeping the Clio for the next couple of years, was going to swap for a Megane R26 LY, but thanks to the silly trade in price that they wanted for my clio, i simply couldn't afford it :( .... BUT Work will cary on on the clio in the next few months.

Coming up ...

Going to Forge Motorsport to become a development car for a FMIC for the TCE engine.
After this the 182 injectors are being re-installed and re-mapped to see if any more power can be extracted.
CF wrapped roof + extras (Still debating tbh)
Some form of new rimmage. (Audi TTRS 18x9's are currently on the idea's list!)
Upgraded brakes (Grooved and Dimpled disks on the front, EBC GreenStuff pads all round)
And all new cleaning/polishing gear.

Yesterday i went out for a run and took more photos ... as i wanted some time on my own, and take some practice shots :)

RS Grills with DRL

Due to having the intercooler fitted soon, And my current DRL being a bit ... Stiff ... they are being removed before the intercooler goes on (As they will break when the bumper comes off) And then they will be replaced with these ...

IMG_1213.jpg

IMG_1212.jpg

They are custom RS 197 Grills Make by FK-Automotive in germany, with DRL's custom fitted into them.

They come with the correct wiring so that they will work as true DRL's (instead of the current ones which come on with sidelights)

and ... i got them for a steal :)

Like everything I've done with my car, they won't be to everyones taste ... But as i am a fan of cars with DRL's for the safety aspect of them ... I quite like having them on mine :)

ClioSXT":19vahwvs said:
As a manufactured part, I think the positioning of the light cluster looks more DIY than I would have expected as theres plenty of aftermarket DRL's fitted into the middle of grills on other cars.

I'm looking forwards to the FMIC progress

Update!

OH NO!!!!

As most of you know, My car don't exactly make the most, or most tone full exhaust note. But after the mid box removal and a straight pipe in its place. it now sounds much much nicer :p (But is not over the top at all)

Next up ... Ive been naughty ... and I've done the opposite of what I've always said i won't do ... and thats buy these ...

My car got quite a bit of interest, Especially when people heard it and realised it was turbo'd

Earlier this month i went to dynodaze and met up with a few Mates from Uk-Modz and Low Standards Forums.

Again, My car got a bit of attention, especially from the owner of dynodaze! He is really keen to re-map my car to the 150Hp mark (After I've fitted the new intercooler, de-cat and reworked exhaust)

Hears some pics :)
