Hi I am having trouble with my boot not opening from the outside. I have a GT 58 plate, I can open manually from the inside. I have tried finding a new solenoid but cannot find one. I have used WD-40 made no difference. Am I able to use the solenoid from a MK2 clip? Many thanks

Id check the switch and fuse first buddy.
My guess is he's talking about the boot lid switch, the one you open the boot wth from the outside. You can find them on eBay new (pattern part) for a relatively cheap price. Best thing would be to change with a friends one if you know someone to see if that is at fault.
