My mate picked up his new Honda Civic Type-R on Friday, thought wevwould give the 2.0ltr duo a wash and some appreciation

Took on my iphone and used a few filters on a couple..

This thread doesn't help me when trying to persuade myself to not go with a type s. They have really grown on me.

Well, bareing in mind he only got it friday.. The trip down some country roads soon had no car in my rear view mirror haha but in a straight line they are very similar!

Both cars are very good and equally matched, I personally would choose a type R over a Clio RS purely because of the VTEC fun

Lol yeah I was taking the mick! If there's something Renault know how to do its make a hot hatch. Type Rs are still awesome though

not sure what these are like compaired to EP3's but I had a nasty surprize when I had a blast against my mates EP3 in my old 200 in a straight line, was mega surprized how it pulled on me! either it was a fast one or my 200 was slow as I had always been evenly matched against them in my 172's!

However ive driven a CTR in that shape and was massively massively disappointed in it!, lack of steering feel, horrid brakes, un-involving drive although a better drive than an EP3!

you definitely made the right choice with a 197!

FN2 is slower than an EP3, the FN2 has exactly the same power but weighs more also the EP3 has more of an aggressive VTEC kick whereas the FN2 is smoother.

Many tests have been done to prove this

I made this desicion half a year ago and went for the R27!
Way better driving experience.

From 0-60 my R27 is even with the EP3, from 60-120 the Civic pulls away with ~4 seconds.
But I haven't tested it against a FN2 unfortunately.

And when it comes down to the looks, the clio wins big time for me!
Imo it has the best looking rear end a hot hatch could have.

Getting the front bumper resprayed, paggered with stone chips from what seems to be previous owner using it for motorway use..

Nice shots, loving the Clio! Said it in another thread but those CTRs just can't grow on me. I have a mate with a champ white edition one and I can't help but think they just look weird. If I really had to choose, I'd rather the EP3 (in fact, it would be an EK9 really...)
