Gordini radio won't take cd's !?

When I try to put a cd in the player it doesn't "grab' it and pull it in like a normal player would. I can force a cd in but nothing happens it just sits in there and then I can press eject and it chucks the cd out ? I don't think there is already a cd in there so why would it do this ? Has anyone had any similar issues ?

Sounds like it's knackered to me.
