I think usually having HIDs when the headlights are 'reflectors' rather than 'projectors' can make them less effective - I'd suggest saving the cash and buying some decent bulbs!

HID gives a really bright puddle whilst on dip beam, but mainbeam spread is so widespread that the throw of the light is rubbish.

Osram Nightbreaker plus (or the unlimitted or whatever the newest are) would be my suggestion.
