Twingo 2 (Excite) Hard to select reverse and first.

Hey, I have recently bought a VERY cheap twingo 2 that had failed its M.oT on a number of things, the majority of it is now sorted, BUT, I am having an issue with First and reverse gear, Reverse is hard to select, and there is a knack to getting it into gear, Same with first, Need to lift the reverse lever thingy to select first, Is this something to do with a worn bush/linkage? It selects all gears perfectly when on the move.

The link is located at the lowest point at the gearbox and could just need cleaning and/or lubrication. Remove the black plastic protection shield and take a look.....it could also have been exposed for a slight pressure causing it to bend a bit.

Are there any differences shifting when the gear oil is cold or warm?
