    Golf GTI Mk 4

Dubz - I know the history of this one and how much has been spent on it since I have worked there (we counted of 3k of bills today). I am reluctant to get a 106 or ka as IMO they are death traps crash test wise (plus I despise the ka - had a sporty one and it was a pile of shiz) Im not too...

    Golf GTI Mk 4

Hi all! To cut a long (and possibly boring) story short, I have a need for a run about car for about 6 months ish.... only to do like 15 miles a day whilst the wife has mine. I work with in a primary school and one of the ladies there is selling her black golf GTI. Its a bit of a dog...

Have you beaten the tax man or has he beat you?

I haven't had one of these.... Should I have received one? (hate the idea of a massive tax bill coming through) You wouldn't believe that my dad is a chartered accountant would you... I should know more about tax.

    Possible modifications?

Hi all, I have a quick few questions to try and make my car a bit more "luxurious?" As a background I have now become the owner of a 64 plate Dacia sandero lauriette TCE (apparently top of the range.... mmhm) My wifes currently got a ford fiesta as a courtesy car which has some nice features...

Help please! Snapped the dipstick end off!

Thank you very much for your help - I will give them a buzz tomorrow (already left them a message) and see if they will come and collect it. If not, I shall have to tow it in to them. Good chatting to you also - I will be looking into getting rid of this peugeot soon anyway, Would rather not...

Help please! Snapped the dipstick end off!

That's what i tried first - hoping it was the same as my 2 clios, 1 scenic and twingo that all had the airbag warning light problem :( it appears to be related to whenever I steer on full lock - annoyingly the internet peugeot gods seem to suggest this is the COMMS2000 unit failing.... yay...

Has this got a cambelt or timing chain?

Thank you Twins go - We have avoided it as it seemed a bit to much to take on. Still on the hunt!

Has this got a cambelt or timing chain?

Ah - didn't know the chains could snap at all - this one being on 52k I suppose its near that time. Tah for the feedback.

    SOLD - Red Reanultsport Twingo 133 - £3,499

Not the top gear one - the first one in the clip is hy58uws - then the one on the ice rink is hy58vaj. Think the "uws" one ended up in the sea?

Any parents? advice please (Twingo based)

Thanks for the advice spitfire1- we are looking at a 16v at the moment but the trade in value of our clio was awful so selling the clio first. Then seen as there are loads of older twingos out there, we may buy one for about 2.5 k to give it a go for a year or two. After this time we should be...

Any parents? advice please (Twingo based)

Thanks Oscar - I am off to look at that one and an 11 reg dynamique model that the wife has fallen in love with. The only issue with the gordini is that she works in a rather dodgy place, locking up alone late at night so we don't want a car that will bring any unwanted attention ... Il see how...

Any parents? advice please (Twingo based)

I dont mean too expensive to run - it isnt going to be massively pricey as a 1.2 tce but just things like tax and insurance increases - every penny counts for us now. may be going to look at this one tomorrow - anyone know it...

Any parents? advice please (Twingo based)

No- I am ashamed to admit its the 1.4 8valve petrol engine - on an 06 facelift 307. Our pug will be staying with us until it dies - its only on 68k ish - so plenty of miles left in it with me. It did a 2k drive around france this holiday and didnt miss a beat. Been looking on autotrader around...

Any parents? advice please (Twingo based)

Oscar - just saw your message sorry! I did think about trying to wait a bit longer til the new one came out - but only so it devalues the older shape ones a little so we could afford even newer. Id love a new one - but Just can never bring myself to sign finance deals (been into garages like 3...

Any parents? advice please (Twingo based)

Thankyou chicken - I will head on over to the facebook page and see if I can perhaps pop him a cheeky message asking how he gets on with it. Shame the wife isnt willing to get a 133 (insurence, tax and petrol kill that idea dead) and she won't go any older than our 10 plate - rather limits our...

Any parents? advice please (Twingo based)

Thank you again all - Reassuring to hear people are using these twingos as "real" cars - I never used the back of my extreme as it was just my commuter. Thank you caz133 - its very scary indeed! but proper exciting - She would absolutely love a new clio (and has requested one infact! )but...
