When you got your car did it come with a factory fitted car alarm? Cos mine did and since getting the car I haven't figured out how to alarm it!!! Lol, the instructions say click the lock button twice and the lights will flash 4times meaning its armed, but when I did this I pretty much tried breaking into my car I.e shaking it opening the doors and nothing happened( I did this cause I wanted to know what my alarm sounded like), so anyway I gave up with the whole alarm thing, so now I just click once to lock the car.now last month we had heavy hail and my car alarm went off more than once and I didn't know how to unarm the car! I just unlocked and re locked it.....

Help? Lol I don't know if it's armed or not right now.. I only ever push the lock button once x

And before anyone says ...yes I did read and follow the instructions that came with the car.... :p

The alarm is active on the first lock, the second lock is deadlock (2nd set of locks meaning the inside handles wont even open the door).

After looking the alarm doesn't actually activate until a short time after (I forget how long, perhaps a couple of minutes) so that would explain why nothing happens when you're testing. Easier way to test would be leave your window open and after a few minutes stick your arm inside.

You can disarm the alarm by pressing any button on the key fob, whether you unlock and lock or just lock again.

Hope that helps...

Ps. The alarm is quite poxy... Can barely hear it inside the house over the tv.

Yea I know! I only noticed it was going off when I seen the flashing lights! Lol I couldn't hear it until I opened the window :/
so if I deadlock it will the alarm still be activated?

Btw thanks for your super quick reply Matt =]

Yes, if you deadlock the car the alarm is still activated.

There is a method to turn off your alarm that's in the manual. Something like having the door open, turning the ignition part on and off a couple of times then closing the door. Can't remember it exactly off the top of my head but it's something like that.
