Hi folks,

Always wanted a bike and it's only recently I've kicked myself up the arse and done my CBT. Did my theory too, so just need to get practising for my MOD1/2.

For the time being, I bought this: 09 plate YZF R125 - it's awesome for what I need it for just now.

Feel free to post your bike porn below!

one of the boys in my work has one, says they're a great laugh and are great bikes for building your confidence on your journey through to the more powerful bikes!!

just please remember to abide by the rules of the road matty!

Welcome to the bike scene. There already is a post here somewhere don't ask me tho! Been absent recently but here's mine :)

Matth just ignore lc, 125's are a good bike to start and the mpg you can get on them is insane. I had a 125 Honda scooter then a cbr125 and now have the xj6 below. We all got to start somewhere and the new licensing rules prevent people just getting on big bikes straight away.

That's pretty rude dude.. Not cool. Easiest thing to do is just not comment if you're not interested in the topic..

I've always been interested about getting into bikes but actually done anything about it :/

There looks to be a complete sense of freedom with biking compared with driving

If your unsure on it etc get along to the nec bike show and try the ride on scheme. Then get your cbt booked and buy a 125. 125's are so cheap to run so if you've got the money to buy one and the insurance you've got no excuse.

And don't worry about lc, Karmas a B****

these bikes are very easy to work on too. you could strip the whole thing down completely in two hours, awesome way to build your confidence too when it comes to teaching yourself about the basics of an engine!!!

ignore luke, he's just not a fan of bikes. he's like jeremy clarkson except he's got much more of the arsehole in him, still love him though lol

I have read the Yamaha isn't as fast as the others but the handling of it for a 125 is suppose to be superb so perfect for building general riding confidence!

After all any biker can go fast in a straight line but a good biker goes fast in a corner ;)

It's great, it's a decent size so it feels like a bigger bike too, they are a lot dearer than others but worth the money I'd say. The L Plates went on before I first rode it don't worry Oscar :).

Really like the ones posted above, I was thinking of a CBR500 once I pass as it fits in with the current regulations and my age etc.

The other good thing is that if I look after it, I should fetch my money back no bother in 6 months time.

They are rather prices which is why when I started opted for the cbr instead.
Will have to try and find the photo of jra3d's bike and mine together.
Sat on the cbr500 at last years bike show and was a comfy bike to sit in. Haven't ridden one though.
