My cluch biting point has moved on my way home from work and is now very high (bites as my foot leaves the pedal)!! It's done 42205 miles and is on first clutch. Can it be adjusted or is it goodbye cluch? There is no slipping at all (5th gear 30mph foot down ect) I've only ever had 1 cluch go on me so I'm no expert on a failing cluch!!

Not adjusted as such as its hydraulic (assuming thats the 133 your on about)
The system can be bled which may help. I think oscar posted details of 133 cluch replacement which will include the bleeding for a new slave cylinder. Have a look in the technical section

Ok thanks. Just had another look at car and think clutch is done, got tomorrow off work to try find a garage around Glasgow to fix it at a not so much rip off price!!

hey again mate. as neil mentioned, the system is a self adjusting hydraulically actuated clutch so there is no means of adjusting it per say. however, your brake fluid may have developed some air pockets in the system somehow meaning that the biting point is raised or lowered as you mentioned. what to do is bleed the entire clutch hydraulic system using the guide in the technical section for the GT / Wind, there are four different variants on there and i believe the third one is for the K4M box ... however, if i'm wrong (which i could be) it will still be one of those :)

the best thing to do will be to investigate further, there could be a problem with the clutch release bearing or the pressure plate may have pood itself. one of those ones where you're best getting it to the garage, but if you can replace the brake fluid and bleed the system yourself then i'd go down that route first!

Hey had a look and I recon I'm best leaving it to a mechanic as i don't want to make things worse. If it is a clutch worst case what would you hazard a fix price to be? If u worked in Glasgow Oscar id pop along to the expert!!

don't think it'd be worth your hassle getting over to loch lomond, all the way back to EK and then having to make your way back to pick it up mate unfortunately otherwise i'd happily do it for you!

to give you an idea on pricing you can source the price for a clutch kit from adam @ renault wolverhampton or through eurocarparts

here is the painfull info for you ...

in other words, avoid renault like the plague unless you've got 600 odd in labour alone! if you know a good garage locally who's labour rate is about 30-35 an hour that'll only be around 300 + the price of the clutch kit.

cars suck sometimes :(

Yeah cars suck, this month it's £350 ins, £190? Road tax and £300+ clutch. At least only 2 weeks till payday lol

rob, i'll get you a price for the clutch kit at trade price and you can get a quote on labour alone. obviously you'll need to drive (its a tenner petrol, 70 mile drive) over the erskine bridge to mines to pay for it and to pick it up okay mate? i'll pm you with a price for the clutch itself and if you're happy to proceed then we'll sort something out!

i'm about to open my own business anyway in supplying servicing parts for folk on here and on another couple of forums specialising in aftermarket french car parts (valeo, gutteman, mahle, ngk, beru that sort of thing) lowwwwwwww prices :D

Hey pal thanks for offer if I didn't need car id of gone with this as I work in Faslane I'm always crossing bridge daily.unfortinally I need my car to get to work so I've had to go with paying garage but there providing a hire car for me too.

I'm very interested in the business ur about to start and I recon I could be a repeat customer :D
