one for all u engine gods and a random question.

my dad is looking at a 133 engine for a project of his (one of many) and was thinking about putting carbs on it rather than fuel injection to keep things simple and old skool.

is it possible?

anything is poss

yea it poss but would b alot of work.ideally u would need a standalone computer system and poss (depending on which standalone u buy) u may need a cable pedal set up.

any reason for wanting carbs??
throttle bodies would b a bit easier

I had twin 40 (may have been 45s) dellortos on my E21 BMW and Pug 205 Mi16. Neither were very advanced engines though ;)

my dad wants it for something hes building, cant really reveal too much yet but its gonna be mint if it works, he just wants to make things simple and hes already got a pedal box etc so he knew about the cable pedals.

thanks turbo, i may be asking a lot of advice if this actually goes ahead, just hope my dad aint dreaming again, lol

potentially u could run it with or without the vvt but it would be alot easier/better without

couldnt resist

my dads built a non turbo yb with carbs before and thats what gave him this idea. that sounds £$%&*%$ mint though!!

i still think the yb lump is the best engine EVER .

My dad+unc have spent there lives playing with them.iv owned a few but nothing like what they have, i will be getting another one once my house is sorted .

u cant beat the noise of carbs

you cant, they are amazing, and the tweaks u can make with them are unreal. i miss my crossflow engine for that :(

the power they can cope with are unreal. you just have to look after them and its worth it for what they give u in return.

my dream car would be a 3 door rs500.
