Ive been toying with the idea of getting coilovers for ages and have decided to just go for it! I am a great believer in 'you get what you pay for' and so will be looking at the mid to upper middle price range. Any suggestions of brands welcome

I have been looking at these https://www.venommotorsport.com/product_details.php?id=10667&manufacturer=FK&category=Suspension at the higher end of my price range (adjustable hight and damping)

or these https://www.venommotorsport.com/product_details.php?id=35554&manufacturer=Supersport&category=Suspension at the lower end (only hight adjustable, fixed damping). The dream is HandR coilovers but cant really justify that much cost

View/comments/opinions welcome

Links fixed :) Not too low but want the rebound and damping sorted. Standard shocks dont get on with the lowering springs. Gets all bouncy and crashy

But you can always buy stiffer damping shocks.

I could, but it would be better to use one unit that was designed to work together. Want to lower a bit further as well

Collies FTW then

Lol - Liking the FK Silverline X ones. Would like adjustable damping

Adjustables is the way if you getting collies no point if there not adjustable IMO

ive got koni clio adjustable dampners but yet to be fitted, non cup ones. could get away with 172's but 182s bracket holes are wider apart. standard clio ones also cheaper. tempted to get clio non cup adjustble roll bar, might as well do whole set up in one go but 200 quid + from DTweeks

Ah, does the Clio adjustable anti roll bars fit? Could you link the this thread

I was going to order one tomorrow. Karl, will the poly bush set for a mk2 Clio 1.2 16v fit all the points on the GT? How similar are they? Looking at my car again for a bit I may just go the adjustable damper route, ride height is pretty much spot on as is.

like i said may maynot work. to be honest i dont think that would work on 133 due to it having 182 rear beam and DT doesnt list any for 182. least with the GT it doesnt have 182 beam and more clio standard bits.
posted stuff on your toc topic of what i've got and hope to get. most of it trial fit done at a workshop whom specialise in these set ups.

My mate who's a mechanic is fairly creative. I would assume from manufacturing and economic basis the cars will be almost identical. I'm sure with a bit if fettling they will fit

im 50/50 with roll bar working on 133, 70/30 with it on GT.
fair play you've got a mate that can do it but you'll need a shop to corner weight and line it up and check stock/modded cam settings. i think thats one good thing with coils over lowering strings, if weight it off at one corner the springs can be adjusted to level it out.
but i cant afford 1400 for ats, itb for that ;)

He has everything in his unit. If mine all fits feel free to come to birmingham if u want/need him to do yours. I'll measure it first an ask dt for the measurements. £200 is a bit risky if they don't accept returns. Poly bushes, strut brace and dampers will have a big impact regardless

i asked ktec about bushes, i believe RS ones and told me no no, never thought to ask about nonRS bushes. always worth asking them mate, state that if it works fine that they can update their website as they havent got much selection on Twingo's. im guessing kam would update theirs to as soon as camber fronts are fitted and work with pictures for them.

The bushes are £60 and I'm sure some of them will fit so willing to try that
