General precautions
Disconnect battery earth lead.
Turn engine via crankshaft pulley (unless otherwise stated).
Turn engine in normal direction of rotation (unless otherwise stated).
Observe all tightening torques (where quoted).

Special tools
Tension gauge - No.Mot.1715 or Mot.1505.

Repair times - hrs

Alternator drive/serpentine belt - AC R & I 1,00
|2011-| Phase 2
Alternator drive/serpentine belt R & I 0,20
Alternator drive/serpentine belt - AC R & I 1,00

Preparatory operations
Access auxiliary drive belt from RH wheel arch and underneath the vehicle.
Components to be removed include:
Engine undershield.
RH front wheel.
RH wheel arch splash guard.

Auxiliary drive belt
Removal
WARNING: Auxiliary drive belt, tensioner and guide pulley(s) must ALL be replaced if ANY of them are removed. DO NOT start engine without auxiliary drive belt fitted as damage may occur to crankshaft pulley.

Remove tensioner bolt dust cover.
Slacken tensioner bolt fig1.1.
Move tensioner away from belt.
Remove and discard auxiliary drive belt.
Remove and discard tensioner pulley.


Installation
Fit new tensioner pulley.
Tighten tensioner bolt finger tight fig1.1.
Fit new auxiliary drive belt.
Attach tension gauge to belt at . Tool No.Mot.1715 or Mot.1505.
Turn tensioner anti-clockwise until tension gauge indicates 277±5 Hz fig1.2.
Maintain tension on auxiliary drive belt and tighten tensioner bolt fig1.1. Tightening torque: 44 Nm.
Turn crankshaft three turns clockwise.
Check and if necessary adjust belt tension.
Install components in reverse order of removal.

Removal
WARNING: Auxiliary drive belt, tensioner and guide pulley(s) must ALL be replaced if ANY of them are removed. DO NOT start engine without auxiliary drive belt fitted as damage may occur to crankshaft pulley.

Remove and discard auxiliary drive belt.
Remove tensioner bolt dust cover.
Remove tensioner bolt fig1.1.
Remove and discard tensioner pulley.


Installation
Fit new tensioner pulley.
Tighten tensioner bolt finger tight fig1.1.
Fit new auxiliary drive belt.
Install components in reverse order of removal.
