There have been rumors that the Twingo II could be turned into a Dacia with prices starting at around £4500

seems about right. the reason dacia is so cheap is because it uses renaults older models and all the internal external gear so all the development costs and whatnot are long since paid back to renault so there are no costs involved, allowing everything to be so cheap thanks to the overheads being realistically nothing.

for example, i remember seeing that the dacia sandero costs renault 330 pounds to make. the rest of the £ in the final asking price comes from various other factors such as taxes involved in importing the car, putting it on the road, paying for the warranty (usually about 1,500 to cover the 3 years), manufacturer profit and dealership profits.

i think this will be a very popular move for Dacia!

From the pics above, it looks to share the rear wiper blade with the Twingo. Any comparisons must be purely on the mechanicals and base chassis as there's not going to be much on show that we will recognise if its anywhere near the pics... So, its just a Mk2 Clio castoff

Surely the production version of the Twingo that we've seen will still remain a Renault? It looks more like this will be another Dacia model the same size as the Twingo but based, yet again, on the mk2 Clio platform...

Interior (central dashboard and front seats) look same as Twingo to me. Unless it's just a photoshop.
