Has anyone on here had a remap by Evolution Chips? We have a couple of dealers up here, one of which was recomended by a Renault salesman who has had his 133 done.

I had my megane 1.9 dci done by a place in Blackpool (Motorsport developments) that owns the chain, and were they develop the maps. They got very good gains (180bhp/310lbs) and even modded the map when I was having problems with the clutch. I dealt with Stuart that owns it, very knowledgable fella, done a few articles about mapping for various mags.

At the time I was less impressed that they wanted more money for modding the map a 2nd time, but in hind site this isn't unreasonable as they were happy to remove the map and but it back on at short notice, without charge.

My mate had a old mk4 golf gt tdi 130 done and that got similar gains to my megane about 170bhp/300lbs. He's made mpg gains, I didn't on the meg.

Haha. Yeah, one problem with TD mapping is the engines can often produce more torque than the drive train can withstand.

I have just emailed them to see if the 133 remap would definately be a custom map, after a data gathering drive/dyno run

looking back at my remaps, wishing i went down Unichip Q route. piggy back ecu so can keep stock ecu by LIVE dyno map it. theres a dip in the mapping, even on mine thats between stock ecu adjustments to get rid of even with a sports cat :(
might be bit expensive but cheaper then standlone and does a better job then any company no matter how good their rep is with stock ecu

Ive head of Evolutions about 2 years ago was going to get my GT done with one for there maps but went against it in the end. When i searched reveiws on the maps in genral there was mixed reveiws

being as I haven't had a reply back from Evolution, but RS tuning have, I've just asked to be booked in on 22nd July. At least it will be done as well as possible on the dyno :)

Day trip down to leeds  Redbull required for the return leg

Let me know how you get on with RS Tuning, looking at getting them to remap mine once the Exhaust is done!

Heard they're a touch on the pricey side...

I couldn't get booked for the 22nd, so it will be Tues 26th instead.

It will be a couple of hours on the dyno to get it mapped, which Paul quoted £349+vat, so a touch pricey compared to non dyno mapped.

As I originaly planned on getting mapped a day or two after getting home, I asked about getting the front pipe fitted. For 1 hours labour, £45+vat which isn't too bad.

If it is a sencible time and your about when I'm heading back up, I would be needing a coffee stop

I shall certainly be about on Tuesday evening/night.

Which way do you usually go? M90/Forth Road Bridge kinda way?

Would be good to hear a bit more about them :)
I've been wanting to get my car Dyno mapped by a Renault tuner for a while.

There's a couple of places around here that do it but no Renault Specialists and Leed's is the closest!
