right im going to have a crack at fitting a decat downpipe tomorrow is it worth heat wrapping it ???

good look mate! iv herd they are a right pain.

id say theres no harm in wrapping it, im sure it'll do more good than harm and stop the engine bay from getting as hot as it normally would.

I've seen some pics of decats and most seem to heat-wrap them.

I'd heat wrap anything like that if I had the choice... but now it's on I can't be F'd.

well i fitted it Saturday took 2 hours it's got a slight blow were the exhaust conical gasket is crushed iv ordered a gasket dont seem half as bad as people made it out to be i might heat wrap it next weekend when i change the gasket

iv had it on a week now makes it sound a little more raspy and a bit louder. also i took it on a track and it pulls alot better after 100 mph than before

Last thing I want is to make my car sound too chavy

It can burble and pop but not sound like a Honda going in Vtec y0!

no its not much louder. it also pops a little now and again. i was doing a charity tunnel run in London last weekend and had a mate follow me he said a spat a few blue flames
