Holes in headrests

Just been faffing about with the driver's headrest, and on the base of the headrest cushion is a small hole - there's one identical on the passenger headrest too.

Is this standard on the RS seats?
 
The holes in the bottom of headrest I think are only there to basically let air out when it is compressed.the 106 gti headrests i had the exact same thing in the bottom

Cheers for that mate. I was beginning to think that the material had just frayed, bit at least its not just on my car :)
