I'm thinking of another car to replace the twingo GT as I cover mainly motorway miles this is my readout from the road trip app I have only just started using it but this is about average, I only live about 7 miles from work but do a lot of travelling at a weekend.

Average MPG: 39.5
Is it worth getting a diesel or would some work on the Twingo make it perform better over long journeys?
Would it be worth me paying the 2K extra outlay for the diesel car? - trying to find a workhorse with character I.e. polo 1.9 or similar! I do love the handling and revvyness of the twingo and everytime I look at replacing it, I have to think long and hard
