It came today, I've plugged it into the car and taken a screenshot and sent it along with the vci code? I imagine that's what I'm supposed to have done? lol

yep, henk will then send you a map back.

open RS tuner, got "read cal" file to back up and save your standard map to your laptop (keep it safe!)
then go to "write cal" to upload your new map, take it out and enjoy!!

when uploading a new map the car will beep at you and warning lights etc will come on, dont worry about it, takes about 20 seconds to upload.

the stage 1 98ron map is designed to be ran on super unleaded fuel such as shell vpower, tesco momentum, bp ultimate etc so your best running that to get the most from it

Hmm...don't know whether to give the rs tuner a go or go the conventional route of going to a dyno and getting it mapped that way...pros and cons of each?

Do it Lewis!!! :p
Do what/which lol. Also don't know whether to get a map on standard configuration or just wait it out and get intercooler and injectors all lined up and do it all in one go but really feeling the need for a map soon!

RS Tuner from fastchip
Cheap £270 all in
Mapped by a specialist who knows renaults very well and specialises in them
ability to have custom maps done at a later date if needed to suit further mods.
supplied with hardware to do full fault code reading on your car and data/performance logging
map may need tweeked and need you to data log a few times back and foward to get it perfect

Live Map from specialist
Expensive £400+
mapped by someone who knows the car/engine
takes any mods into account
generally good aftermarket support when needed

generic remap from most tuners
Cheap £250-£350
doesnt take any mods into account
not always tried and tested
not optomized gains

Thanks very much!...Fair enough so it seems as a middle ground compromise the rs tuner is a fair way to go? Correct? Also...can you post up a link to the site where you purchased it from so I can have a look around and do some reading on there please?

Will there be problems running 95RON or will it just restrict it a bit. Lot a tank of asda's finest in there at the moment lol

just wont give the best performance it may retard ignition slightly, but it wont affect the car in any major way, tesco 99 is only about 5p per litre, so £2 per full tank more so thats what i run

Well I've done it, took it for a run and all I can say is WOW. I don't think people are going to believe that is a 1.2 when I take them out in it any more

No one thinks they are 1.2's when they first get in them for a lift when they are standard either ;-) unless they are clued up of course lol

awesome gain in low down torque eh?!!!

my mate has a clio TCE tuned by a tuner up this way expected to be around 130bhp, side by side when going for it on the motorway there is nothing in it between me and him which if im running around 118bhp then that would tally up that he is running 125-130bhp, but he doesnt have as much low down torque as me, side by side from 30mph him in 2nd gear me in 3rd gear they are equal!
