Has anybody tried it? I'm temped to give it a go (Instead of the usual Elf Evolution 900 SXR)

Also, looking to do the cam belt within the next few months (water pump as well). Should I just bite the bullet and buy Renault parts?

I just remember back when I had my 106, I saw gates kits for around £40, but I decided to get official Peugeot parts at the cost of £80. To find out it was made by gates anyway. :eh:

renault use valeo waterpumps, gates / valeo / contitech belts and tensioner pulleys and idlers throughout the range. the one thing i will say is that this story you hear about ''cheap crap'' is completely unfair really. what some folk refer to as cheap crap, is actually OEM on mercedes / bmw / audi / vw / skoda / seat / vauxhall so on so forth among many others!!!

the ONLY reason why so called renault specialists swear by 'genuine renault' parts is down to one thing only ; warranty. if parts break down then genuine renault parts are backed up by an easy claims system through renault. wheras trying to put a warranty claim in for labour etc through say gates themselves going aftermarket ...realistically good luck with that!!! same thing for other companies. ironically, i have seen some so called renault specialists refer to certain valeo and bosch products as crap just because it's not OEM. it's just ridiculous really and only serves to make them look like absolute products of incest to keep it polite AHEM.

i have a gates waterpump and belt kit which cost me about £100, holding up just fine mate :) much better design than OEM too. i also use gates an veleo on pretty much every other french car that i work on be it a pug or a shitroen and i've never had a parts failure either. on pugs and shitroens, valeo isn't used as much as on renault too. neither is gates

^^^^ bit of light humour in there by the way chaps lol

I put it in my old GT, ran great.. Its definately smooth and works to an extent.

I would reccomend this to all you twingo'ers, I'll be using it in my chavmobile next service.

The warranty thing sounds quite good, but I reckon I will probably go with gates.

I looked into Nano drive, first of all they market it as a motorsport oil, so I thought maybe it didn't as high of a TBN number. But actually there both the same at 10. (and sorry for a bit of a late reply, been busy the last while).
