Roadhawk Install

Anyone know how to install a Roadhawk without having to have it wired into the 12v socket? Had a look around YouTube etc and can't seem to find anything...

Won't any switched 12V live supply suffice?

If you're hard-wiring it into the car, then I'd crack the multimeter out to find a switched 12V supply and splice in the wires...
