On the way to work this morning when trundling along slowly at junctions i could hear a slight squeak that seemed to be coming from one of the rear wheels, it wasnt a high pitched squeak but on the way home from work it had vanished, any ideas?

Probably something stuck in the tyres lad

I don't think it was that because the same thing happened a couple of week ago, squeak on the way to work then nothing again after, could it be a wheel bearing?

Possibly the rear pads starting to stick in the carriers.

Sounds like it could be that, it did it again this morning, is it something thats easily rectified?

yep. get some copper grease on the back of the pads, fine sandpaper off any rust and dirt. clean the caliper brackets and mounting faces on the pads spray with brake cleaner and apply some copper grease onto the parts you cleaned > refit, squeek free driving

give the piston and seals a good squirt of brake cleaner too.
