Me too - but I listened to my dad when he told me the boring stuff all those years ago :lol:

Sure it'll be absolutely fine for what you need - I've used "patched" types on motorways before (but wouldn't want to take one on a trackday...)
 
No im not going to be doing anything to extreme with the tyres like a track day :lol:

Im suprised how well they have held up really, done 7.5k on them now and theres loads of tread left on the fronts, I dont drive hard on them really but have heard of other peoples only lasting 7-10k mine look like they will easy go another 7k!
