Anyone supercharged or thought about supercharging there twingo like the JCW mini GP. A lot cheaper than a turbo and easier isn't it ?

there are kits out there for the k4m engines, so in which case this is transferable to your engine blake. on the pricing side, i believe the kits themselves go for about a grand and if you can't do it yourself then it'll be another grand in labour costs to fit it. add on top of that the cost of requiring an aftermarket ecu to handle the boost, easily another grand to buy and then get that working + dyno time on top of that money.

i've also seen a good few k4m turbo conversions on clios and lagunas, this works out to around the same price. it's six and half a dozen really. personally i think you'd be much better just to buy a megane F4R turbo engine and install that into your twingo. the engine should cost a grand, 500 to install and you can do all of the wiring yourself and this is also a direct swap. 225/230 bhp out of the box and with a remap you will easily sit at around 270 bhp. with a supercharger or turbo for double the cost and not even close to 200bhp ...... you'd only wish you went down the megane route :)

you're right there. there's nothing more satisfying than re-engineering your car :) the supercharger option would be the easier option though as it's simply is a case of bolting it onto the crankshaft but space would be very limited. your best bet would be to contact fred @ BTM, he will no doubt be able to give you all of the information you require. he basically pioneered the clio F4R turbo / supercharger scene and he really knows his stuff when it comes to this sort of thing

what kind of engine mate? if you mean a megane engine then the best place to look for an engine would be breakers yards or on megane owners forums where engines with service history can be seen. being an F4R engine, it shares the same common engine mount positions for top engine mount etc but the lower gearbox mount will need to be fabricate to fit - not a problem. it's basically a direct swap and in terms of labour costs alone to have the engine out, and megane engine in would be around 700-1,000 (i can recommend you certain people who are great at this sort of project down in england).

the next thing to then do would be to trailer the car to a standalone ECU specialist to have the entire engine custom wired into an aftermarket ECU like neil (singlespeed) had done.

the reason i suggest going down the megane route is that i get the impression you couldn't care less about the twingos engine, i suspect you just want a 'charged renault sport twingo that goes like stink, that you'll no doubt still have in 20 years time as a mad max style future classic (renault 5 gt turbo style!) and this would be the easiest route. supercharging a twingo engine is unchartered territory and if you pop a piston or bend a con rod / valve, you're back at square one and needing an entire engine rebuild. the megane engine is at least proven to be more than capable on standard internals + a remap at around 270 bhp, and the R26 transmission has an factory LSD option too.

I was looming at supercharging my twingo aswell I don't need massive power just thought it would be nice to have something different but I obviously have not been looking hard enough because I haven't found and kits for it

that thread up there is wrong you could fit a charger in c30 series fairly easy the brack to replace the a/c with charger is the same as the clios too ...

could theoretically bolt on any old supercharger ben like you say, the only challenge will be mounting it and finding the correct sized belt and sprocket so on so forth. if you were really anal, i suppose you could develop this yourself with a few precise measurements :) there certainly are one or two rotrex 'chargers out there on the market just now which will fit the k4m crankshaft set up

With a suitably sized drive pulley, the Rotrex C15-60 would probably fit the bill, replacing the A/C pump.

The crankshaft pulley/crank would need modifying to introduce a pin or locking key to prevent the pulley slipping on the crankshaft from the extra loading. In standard form, its free floating and only bolt tension holds it in position.
