This is my second RS - had a 182 before. I've also currently got an '08 K9K diesel Megane that's still going well @ 140K
Upto now since I got her last week she's had:
Brake fluid change
Coolant change
Thermostat
Waterpump
Timing belt
Dephaser pulley
Aux belt and tensioner
Oil and filter
Gear oil change
Clutch fluid change
Rear discs and pads (inc rear wheel bearings)
First jobs on the Silverstone were a gear oil change, engine service and timing belt. I was glad I swapped the belt, timing was miles out and the aux belt was waffer thin :!:
All Renault bits so no surprises down the line hopefully.
A tip I have found for removing the air box is remove the 2x 13mm bolts that hold the air box bracket and flick the CAF pipe clips out the bottom of the airbox with a long screwdriver.
Nice and dry with no trace of any oil leaks.
Another tip i've done in the past is do the water pump before fitting the dephaser pulley. Gives a bit more room.
Nice
Ended up with a faulty thermostat that I was assured was OEM but was'nt so ended up getting one from Renault.
When I first got the car, temps were low at around 75ish celsius before the new stat, now with a new stat she sits at 89-90c all the time. These cars dont start adjusting the fuel mixture until warm so correct temp is very important.
A new stat starts opening at 89c and is fully open at 99c.
I refitted the air box bung (cooler air hopefully) and popped in a BMC panel filter.
The car now goes like a rocket (was a bit gutless before the belt change tbh) and drives tight as a drum - my favourite RS so far i think, so much charm and character.
Will update when I do more little jobs.
