Yes 8" is necessary, more dish :) its not that bad stretched with 195 actually, go look on tyrestretch.com. so what youre saying Neil is they will fit without spacers or?

6.5x15 ET36 (Clio/19 16V steelies) with 185/55 Goodyear Ultragrip 8 winters on RS Cup - week in, no issues at all.

5,5x15 Ronal R52 ET35 with 165/65 Alpine A4 winters on Twingo RS Red Bull. It works fine.

Quick question, I need two new front tyres soonish, definitely going for 205 rather than 195.
Would I be able to go with 205/45/17 or would I need to stick with 205/40/17?

The 45 profile would be anther 10mm taller than the 40 which nearly rubs but doesn't normaly give problems. The extra 10mm would probably lead to some rubbing... How much and where it would rub, making it usable or not?

I think 205/40/17 is a good compromise, as the extra width protects the rim a bit better. The slight gain in sidewall height doesn't leave it on stilts. The size is fairly well covered by a good range of tyres and usualy stocked

Yeah I've read through numerous posts on here and couldn't find any mention of 205/45/17 tyres. Going to get my front two alloys refurbed at the same time so I will stick 205s on.

Dont know if its relevant.. But mine is slightly lower than a standard 133, with 25mm spacers and running 205/45/16 with no problems

Silly me wants to buy a set of Rotiforms. They're 17", 8J and the ET on them is 20. Question is: will they fit? and if so, original tyre size?

imagine your standard wheels sticking out 42mm more than normal... 35mm for the offset and 7mm for the extra width.

I doubt if they would be usable.

There is a way to make them fit.. kinda.

Hellaflush camber :p

+1 but then no more fast driving in corners else you end up in a tree with that kind of camber

I agree thats a little too much on the camber but I'd consider to put some very slight negative camber on the front wheels for looks and for fast cornering use on mine :p

Wonder how this would look on a RS/GT :p
Crap
Whats the point. Just put 145 section tyres on as you would probably have more rubber on the road :?

2010 Twingo RS Cup

6,5x15 ET40 OZ Superturismo wheels with 195/50-15 tyres.. ..prfect fit, no rubbing
