Yes it's the new 2.0 177PS motor. According to Audi's publicity, all their current TDI engines have common rail and piezo injectors. The salesman said the 177PS was new for 2013. No, no mods planned. Perfectly happy with it as is. It's FWD. LOL at "Dundee Girl" - they must be the Scottish...

No chance! Obsolete models will lose money AT LEAST as quickly as current models. Just done a deal today for my full-fat 133 with cup chassis. 10 plate with 19k miles. Got £5,500 for it as a trade-in against an Audi A5, and thought I'd done bl**dy well at that.

Time to move on.... ... I've been thinking about it for a while now, and today after 3 years and 19,000 happy smile-a-minute-miles I've done the deal to trade my Twingo in and go for something a bit more grown up. So, we're getting a (drum roll....) Audi A5 Sportback SE Technik, 2.0 TDI 177PS...

Given that it's such a common problem, I'd go to your local Renualt dealer and "thump the table" - tell them you KNOW it's something that happens a lot, and that you want them to fix it for free. If they argue, point them to the thread on here, and say you'll talk to the local council's trading...

'Course they do - it's a money-making exercise for Renault. Totally pointless unless you're going to keep the car forever. If you're going to run it for, say 3-4 years then trade it in, all you're doing is a favour for the next-but-one owner.

Haggling is great fun. Whatever price they ask for something, offer them between a quarter and a third of that price. They'll look so shocked as if you'd spat in their granny's eye, but that's all part of the game. They'll come down about 10%, so you try and look just as shocked and offer...
