Agree with that - it's a bit pointless. I'd thoroughly recommend Panasonic. We bought a Panasonic Viera a couple of years ago and the picture quality is superb. So good we hardly ever use the high-definition channels! Also has decent sound quality compared to the Samsung and LGs we looked...

    BMW alpina D5

A recommendation for Audi: My A5 fits your mate's criteria. Almost Mondeo-sized. Fuel 50mpg round town thanks to turbo diesel and start-stop function. V quick through the gears with turbo on-song. 0-60 around 8 seconds. If that's not enough, he could spend an extra 20 grand and go...

    how many?

Mine was a 10 plate with 19k when I traded it. A5 is a 63 just coming up to 2k in the next week or so. :P

The "Has anyone seen my OLD car?" Thread.

Just a thought here - idle curiosity really! I traded my Twingo in September through Preston Audi, who presumably would have moved it on through the trade, and wondered where it would turn up. So, I thought I'd start a thread for ex-Twingo owners to add details of their old cars, then if...

What car will you be buying next?

Had my A5 for 2 months now and I'm delighted with it: https://www.twingo133.net/general-twingo-renaultsport/long-and-thanks-for-all-the-fish-t10465.html Happy to discuss if you've got any questions.

    Audi Kit Car

Yes it's the new 2.0 177PS motor. According to Audi's publicity, all their current TDI engines have common rail and piezo injectors. The salesman said the 177PS was new for 2013. No, no mods planned. Perfectly happy with it as is. It's FWD. LOL at "Dundee Girl" - they must be the Scottish...

I think there's something fishy going on there

That's not an Audi... THIS is an Audi

So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Haha - you're forgetting I spent 3½ years at the School of Twingo Considerate Drivers... Fitted as standard - and yes, I DO know where they are. ;)

So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Hi everyone, it's been a while, so just popped in to say "hi, hope everyone's OK" and show you a couple of pics of the new car....

So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Thanks, guys. I pick it the Audi up tomorrow, and it's fair to say I'm VERY excited.... Few parting thoughts on the Twingo: Overall, a great little car. Handling is fantastic BUT very compromised on poor road surfaces. Cross country roads, point to point I suspect a Focus would actually...

    Twingo 133 problems

When I was a kid, my Dad's Ford Anglia used to do that from cold. He'd tell me it was running on "Kangaroo Petrol"

    footy

0-0 with 3 sending offs each and a couple of big names out injured for the season would be my dream result

Why has my car depreciated so much!!??

Beat him down a grand on the original price of the A5, so swings and roundabouts really, and less hassle... ;)
  15. gavin-h

Why has my car depreciated so much!!??

No chance! Obsolete models will lose money AT LEAST as quickly as current models. Just done a deal today for my full-fat 133 with cup chassis. 10 plate with 19k miles. Got £5,500 for it as a trade-in against an Audi A5, and thought I'd done bl**dy well at that.

So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Time to move on.... ... I've been thinking about it for a while now, and today after 3 years and 19,000 happy smile-a-minute-miles I've done the deal to trade my Twingo in and go for something a bit more grown up. So, we're getting a (drum roll....) Audi A5 Sportback SE Technik, 2.0 TDI 177PS...

knocking sound when turning or going over bumps

Given that it's such a common problem, I'd go to your local Renualt dealer and "thump the table" - tell them you KNOW it's something that happens a lot, and that you want them to fix it for free. If they argue, point them to the thread on here, and say you'll talk to the local council's trading...

do you think 2 years is to long for 1st service

'Course they do - it's a money-making exercise for Renault. Totally pointless unless you're going to keep the car forever. If you're going to run it for, say 3-4 years then trade it in, all you're doing is a favour for the next-but-one owner.

    Egypt

Haggling is great fun. Whatever price they ask for something, offer them between a quarter and a third of that price. They'll look so shocked as if you'd spat in their granny's eye, but that's all part of the game. They'll come down about 10%, so you try and look just as shocked and offer...

    Any hope?

Agreed! If you can't stand the thought of it on your drive, I can offer two practical suggestions: 1. Park it round the corner. 2. Get over yourself.
