Makes me think someone doenst drive it ;)
Ha ha, I drive it everyday for 2 weeks to and from work then I use the wifes car for the third week then back to mine for 2 weeks and so on. Sometimes I ride my bike to work as I only work about 4 miles from home.

Whoops...!

5 months and over 7,000 miles (1,400 a month!?). I really should walk to work (would take 15-20 mins) but I need to take the missus to work at lunch so unfortunately not an option until she drives. :(

January 2006 - RS Megane 225 - 3,100 miles

July 2010 - RS Twingo Gordini - 350 miles

As you can see, commuting by train means I don't drive very far. Even my missus car, which she uses daily has only done 2,500 miles since the beginning of June.

The milage must just be from moving if for a clean they are proper low milage

bloody hell lol your megs only just ran in in 5 years lol =P

Well I must admit, the Megane hasn't been taxed this year so hasn't been driven. I usually tax it for the summer but with the Gordini coming I didn't this year, shame the Gordini took so bloody long!!

Thing is, my driving is purely for social rather than commuting. When I lived with the rents, I bought the Megane but only used it at weekends. Then when I was due to move out about six months later I bought a cheap run about to use to park at the train station. Because I don't get loads of time to just take the car out it got older and the mileage stayed lower.

It came to the point where I thought that actually it's a rare car (only 253 3dr in Inferno, only 1 on 44 with factory xenons) so thought it may actually be worth preserving. Not for it going up in price but for the sake of having a cool, interesting car that will be mint and low mileage. I love old skool Renaults now, especially mint ones so why not keep mine until it's retro hahaha.

Mental?.................definitely!!! lol

Thats a good point alex have to say its a loverly car

Funny thing is when people hear that's 'it's just a Megane' they don't really get it. But the thing is, back in the days cars like Renault 5 GT Trubos, Escort RS Turbos, Nova GSIs etc were all regulars sights on the road. Not so now and they're the cars I personally love seeing about. Clio 172/182, Megane 225s even Twingo 133s will become rarer and rarer.

r.s gordini.june 2010.500 miles.car is now parked up and off the road in the winter.

You gonna be using another car over the winter mate? Where you gonna keep the 'dini stored? I just bought a great cover for mine from CleanYourCar.co.uk.

nah not going to use another car over the winter,i cycle to work everyday and my gf only stays a short ride away on the bus so no need to use the car in the winter when the weather sucks because i live in the north off scotland we get hit very very hard with snow and ice our roads are being fully gritted now,no point in driving in this just wrecks your car plus means you have to clean it everyweek in the freezing cold.its just parked on my drivewaiy i was planning a cover but keep hearing mixed reviews about them, are they worth buying buddy?

Aaah all that way up in Scotland means you get some proper winters. Not like us Southerners who get a big of frost and sh!t out pants at snow! hahaha.

As for car covers, I rate them to be honest. I've used them for years and they're perfectly safe as long as you use a bit of common sense.

Make sure they're securely fitted on a completely clean car. I have a Voyager lightweight cover from CoverYourCar and it's really good. Also means that the car isn't sitting there getting covered in crap when it's not going anywhere.
