i think the original are street spec, if you want sporty/racing, buy that

definitly

if you change gear one to second on full load, sometimes engine move so much that something hit something -> "chklong" :?

also these vibratech are sport one, it exist for clio, even more reinforce one for racing use

I would say then something isn't right, but a standard car with a standard dogbone mount shouldn't have that, no matter what the revs. I've certainly never experienced it, and lets face it, it's fun to green light it through a tunnel or two :p

Was it broken before when it did that then?

Have we got a price on these yet?

Annoys me with the movement of the gearstick off throttle

Price should be out soon and maz maz I had that first to second full throttle!! Not no more though, and no movement on gear stick feels puts down power better too I love it!

Oh and my original dogbone was fine nothing broke and still first to second on full... Urghhhhh!!

So there's no chance the new one from vibratech will wreck my diff? :D
As the Renault mechanics from Munson001 said?

I was thinking to buy one, but that one made me think.^^

I've had slight whining also like stu has mentioned so I've emailed vibra technics explaining I've got whining too I think I'm going to take mine off until they email back and see if they make a less hardened one and I'm keeping listening just Incase ... Still seems fine though but haven't had on a week yet ....

with the engine and gearbox having things wizzing up and down at up to 7000rpm and cogs meshing together, theres bound to be some mechanical noise transfered into the engine block and gearbox case. Under light loads, the original voided bush isn't squished to the point where the center rubber boss is pressing against the shell. Hence, most of the time, only a small amount of rubber will be transmitting the noise into the subframe/chassis.

With the upgraded bush, theres the full area of the bush to provide support, but also transmit noise.

Benmc if the noise gets louder as your speed increses then your diff is shot .. Mine got priced up today £1598.61 just for new diff & fitting!!!
My diff mashed the bearings to bits .. Im not 100% sure the dog bone was to blame though.
Oh & the parts have to come from France !! So that's another 3 days !!!

Mine does increase in noise but is totally fine and the noise isn't really loud.. Vibra technics have emailed back and have explained it shouldn't make a difference to the diff.. Also what single speed is saying makes corresponding sense ... It will get louder in any circumstance because the noise frequency amplifies ... Ill keep people updated how mine is..

Stu do you know how big of a job it is to check diff too may get it checked to put people's and my own minds at ease if its okay price

Mine does that - it didn't when new, and is getting worse - and it's totally boggo.

A new dogbone (any stiffer mount) transfers vibrations away from the engine/gearbox/diff doesn't it? In addition to reducing non-rotational motion. From here it seems like it should extend the life of a diff.

But what do I know, I'm no automotive engineer.

Benmc it is a big job £95 just for them to look at it!!! They had to pin point it so mic's were place on the gearbox so any noise can be heard . But in my case you just needed to turn the radio off then do 30mph & above cuz that's all you could here.. Then the gearbox needs to be removed from the car for an internal inspection & that's 3-4 hours @ £75 an hour!!!

Biknorton . I think my local stealers where trying to say that it maybe to stiff & as its bolted to a bracket that's bolted near the diff it was taking vibrations from the engine then magnifying them & sending through the diff.. I have heard of things like this before but not
on a twingo.. But then again what do them parts swapping monkeys know.....

I've just been to a local gearbox specialist down my end and asked the question they have said if its exactly the same measurements I.e hole spacing etc it won't effect the diff at all they said the whining will most probably be sound transfer due to it being stiffer the sound vibration isn't dampened as much he said I shouldn't worry about it only be concerned if it gets really loud but it shouldn't do

Also just got off the phone from monster sport which do all the r series of twingos and what a great help they are too!!!

I sent them multiple pics and they rang back explained basically the same thing as above and they said if anything it's going to put less stress on the diff because things are not moving about, also they said on the sports they have a fairly straight set of teeth of the final drive he said this does generate a whine anyway but the new mount because being stiffer will act like a link to the body which will act like an amplifier so everything is Definatly good!!

Good news then Ben.. Im just saying what Renault said to me .. Mines up for sale as im getting rid .. my car has had problem after proplem..

Munson - Besides being shot, what exactly is/was wrong with your diff? Any pics or second opinion of the suspected faulty bits

Oh I know stu just put the shits up me that was all so I wanted to check out further bud shame about yours :(

Singlespeed no pictures its been in the stealers for 2weeks now.. As far as I know it's shot diff bearings & shims that about all they told me.. All the gears are ok & so is the diff I think!!
When ever I get it back I'll see what's been done on the repair sheet & post it on here..
Ben its had £2000 worth of work done to it in 2 weeks it's shocking plus the other 2grand in 11 months on a 59 plate car with 21000 on the clock..
