I'm an apprentice furniture designer in one of the UKs biggest office furniture suppliers, fun at times, use Solidworks, anyone else use it? Thoughts/tips?

Im a Train Driver on London Underground, Ive worked for TfL for 6 years, I joined as a Bus Inspector when I was 17, spent most of my time working in Tube stations all over London as a Station Assistant between the ages of 19-22 and now Im 23 and a driver on the Jubilee line.

Tonight is one of those nights when I wish I was doing something different :(

After an unexpected electrical shut off (many thanks to the rig :? ) our rather expensive 500metre long electrical cable, which should be neatly wound onto a drum, looks like a kitten has been playing with a ball of wool. Probably a day lost to completely remove and replace it :?

Should be interesting tomorrow morning, once the office dayshift come in. In a world where your only as good as your last Feck up, Im not expecting to be comming back here

That sucks Neil. Hope today will perk up and be a better day (/ tonight be a better night given your posting times).

Manager of a steel fabrication company specialising in Structural Steelwork, Materials Handling equipment, Architectural metalwork, handrails etc

I'm responsible for making contacts, chasing up leads, quoting work, surveying, designing/detailing, procurement and issuing to production. Customer relations before and after ordering.
Fortunately we dont get any customers complaining about either our work or our delivery times.
We're pretty good tbh.

Feel free to PM if anyone else is in this line of work!

Thanks Drew. Unfortunately last night wasn't much better as it appears progress of the repair was far too slow for the oncoming dayshift supervisor.

Realy glad I said I would only do two weeks now, as I've not enjoyed any of this trip, from first volountering to stand in at short notice. Helicopter is booked for tomorrow, so I'm looking forwards to 24hrs time and getting off here

Got some chocolate, so cheering up now
